With this wine we pay tribute to our fantastic harvest crew of 2013. The grapes for this wine were hand selected and each bunch individually tasted for ripeness and flavour before being picked. After de-stemming the grapes, two of our pickers hosed themselves down and jumped in the bin with the fruit. We turned up the music in the winery and the two girls danced around in the grapes for a while, slipping, sliding, splashing, and generally making a sticky mess. This traditional technique of crushing the grapes by foot prior to pressing released the mysterious flavours hidden in the skins. Fermented and aged on lees in both French oak and acacia barrels for 10 months, this wine has evolved into a lively spirited wine with an underlying sensuality, full ripe flavours, lithe legs and sensuous curves.
This Single Release wine was handcrafted by the crew at Rimu Grove Winery. Limited to a ridiculously low number of bottles, this wine reflects the spirit of innovation, creativity and general eccentricity of the folks who make our wines.
